Sheltering from the Rain at Vrienden op de Fiets

Wow, the hospitality and connections we experience at a Vrienden op de Fiets never fail to amaze us. We sometimes feel that when the accomodation is so incredible, as it is here, we should prepare our own breakfast. Nonetheless, it is part of the mission and sense of hospitality which is integral to this organization, so we happily comply.

When we walked in to our accommodation we were blown away by its size and how beautifully it has been put together.

Breakfast is brought to us each morning by Toos. A tray with eggs, meat, cheese, fresh buns and bread, juice, etc plus a pot of coffee. Thank you!

Staying at this Vrienden op de Fiets has been a special experience. Like all of our experiences staying at Vrienden op de Fiets, the hosts are wonderful people who make your stay the best it can be. At this place, we had our own little house with a bedroom, full kitchen, living room and nice deck. Thank goodness we asked for a second night, as tomorrow promises to be one of heavy rain, all day.

These happy birds kept us entertained-very active and vocal.

Our hosts invited us to their home for coffee and a visit. Lovely people with whom we feel a connection. We would happily return here if we are cycling here again. We got to meet this character….a work in progress. He is a lovable pup, who loves to play and cuddle. He is a Bretagne Fauve de Bretagne.

As predicted, it rained heavily through most of the day. So happy we stayed an extra night. Did some laundry, relaxed and enjoyed the day. We really enjoyed our stay in this incredible home away from home.
