About

In early 2017, I stepped into retired life. Over the prior 10 years,I developed a love of cycling. Early on, I joined a friend on a self-supported tour of the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Trail. We knew nothing about bicycle touring and being self-supported on the bike. Those 330+ miles over 7 days showed me that touring by bike was meant for me.
Fast forward to today, I have cycled many of the state multi-day and week long tours. I have toured, self-supported and credit card, numerous states with friends. After retirement, I made a commitment to venture outside of the United States and tour. I have spent 2 weeks on my bike in Hungary and 2 weeks exploring Southern Bohemia and Austria on my bike.
My goal is to be more independent and open to exploring the world on my own. I enjoy learning from others by reading journals and blogs. I hope that my time here helps me become the bicycle tourist I strive to be and help others with my experiences on my bike.
