About

Avid cyclist living in Tacoma, WA, USA. I came to cycling from mountaineering, so my favorite cycling today is to be in the mountains. I love hills and narrow twisty roads with zero traffic.

I've cycled with groups in the Swiss Alps, Pyrenees, Corsica, California, Oregon and Washington. My camping days are over. I like hotels with a good chef :) 

I commuted to work by bike for over 30 years, in Boston, Hartford, Seattle and Beijing.

My annual cycling goal is about 7,000 miles, and I'm a new member of the Cent Cols club. As I'm now retired, I want to cycle more, cycle travel more, and do so with my wife, and with friends.

My main bike is a Moots. My gravel bike is a Trek Crosscheck. I also have a Bike Friday, and a Surly Disc Trucker (mainly used for errands now).
