We are Jeanna and Kerry Smith.  We moved from North Carolina to the west central coast of Florida in 1999 to stay warm.    In 2012, after we were both fully retired, we took up cycling for fun and exercise.  Kerry was hooked immediately.  It took me a little longer as I had done very little cycling in my life.  As we started to meet other cyclists, we found out that many people do more than just ride their local bike trails - a lot more!   Bike travel seemed very appealing, so we decided to give it a try.

We have been cycle touring for seven years.  We started with hanging our single bikes on the back of the car and traveling around, riding mostly rail trails.  As I got more comfortable with cycling, we started doing a few overnights, then tours of up to 2 weeks.  In 2015, we decided (Kerry persuaded me, really) to try a tandem.  It is perfect for us.  Now, we take off for three or four months at a time on the tandem and leave the car behind.  We love (almost) every day of it.
