We were awakened at 5 a.m. by severe thunderstorms that didn't let up until 9:30.
So, we documented our reunion.
At 9:40 we took off. It wasn't raining! But 8 miles down the road we heard thunder. Fortunately, we were next to a Circle K convenience store and gas station. We got out the chairs, looked at the weather radar, drank coffee and settled in!
After an hour and a half, with no letup of rain, thunder or lightning, we drove to E. Palatka, had a picnic lunch in Dennis and Tom's hotel room and then went for a ride! The storms had passed and there was a wonderful path (Palatka to Lake Butler State Trail) just outside of Palatka.
Beautiful array of plants.

Another good seafood dinner, and we saved some of the hushpuppies for our last day of riding. Holly said they were called "hushpuppies" because people would toss this fried ball of cornmeal to their puppy to hush them up. We are going to try throwing them at any dog who chases us.
Ended our day with this lovely view.
Today's ride: 43 miles (69 km)
Total: 87 miles (140 km)
