Valencia Road loop / Sweetwater

Here’s a short but sweet ride - a loop south to the south end of the Loop on Valencia Road and then a turn back north to the Saint Mary’s access on the east bank this time. Rachael follows me this far but then peels off for home while I continue north to Sweetwater again before doubling back. Not much to comment on here, unless you count another great video by the GoPro half of the team, two roadrunner sightings, or two new birds for the year.

#56: Savannah sparrow. Impressively, the photo apps correctly identified the bird from each view of the bird separately. I’m going to have to study the features of this bird to see why it’s so obvious what it is seen coming or going.

Sleepy orange (Abaeis nicippe). Also impressive that it picked out the butterfly in this pile of detritus.
