Arrival - Winterlude 2024 - CycleBlaze

Arrival

So let’s go out of sequence for a few days and just swan dive into Puglia, bypassing some interesting days and stories: the flight of the Raven, a last coffee date, the always exciting storage unit shuffle, the flight.  We’ll wrap back and pick them up later but it’s 10PMhere, suddenly I’m totally wiped out, and it’s all I’ve got left in me to drop in a few photos.  Buona notte.

Oops. Wrong journal!!  I’ll come back nd finish the previous pages, but this is the transition point to the new year.  Think of this a a quick peek into the coming season to reassure you that the series has been reviewed for another year, and with the same principals.  Isn’t it about time for that old guy to slip off somewhere though and give Rocky some fit younger hunk fo share the stage with?  Rocky and the old guy is out, Rocky and the Bikepacker is in.  You wish, Rachael!

Staring down the Adriatic Sea. Nice.

The hills don’t look like they’ll be too bad.

I’m not sure, but that might be Ostuni. I’ll stare at it tomorrow.

Scott AndersonTo ann and steve maher-wearyHey there! Yes, we’re thrilled to be here again ourselves. I think I’m safe in saying this winter brought the darkest month of my life, even worse than the months when Carol Jo and I were deciding whether I was going to go to Vietnam as an infantryman or desert and flee to Canada.

It will be different than our travels in the past, but wonderful in a whole different way. Thanks for following along!

Our home for the next two nights. There’s a story here, but it can wait.

The bathroom’s downstairs, the beds upstairs. The hikes say nay but lose the vote.
