A calendar for the new year, 2025

Continuing with an annul tradition that began some  years ago we’ve assembled a virtual calendar of photos from the past year, emulating the physical ones we had printed to hang at the kitchen wall at home and in our office cubicles during our working years.  They make a nice thumbnail sketch of where the year went and as a reminder of how fortunate we’ve been in our vagabond lives - even after this unusually troubled season.

Here are the previous digital calendars, for display in 2020202120222023, and 2024; and here is our calendar for 2025, to tack up on our virtual wall in the months ahead.

On the cover: July 8th, on our 36th anniversary celebration on Blakey Ridge in the North York Moors

Janice BranhamStellar day. Just noticed that we were channeling the mural behind us with our colors. I'm doing the Snoopy dance over your green light for a return to Tucson.

Karen PoretRegarding Mount Saint Helens..My husband, the avid reader informed me ( after I showed him this photo) there are now gophers living in it.🙄

Scott AndersonTo Karen PoretAbout time it finally piped down. It was still smoldering a decade after it blew its top.

Regarding this mountain though. You do know it’s a different local peak don’t you? The exploded one’s in the state next door.

Oh, look! It’s one of those 13 month calendars that includes a leaf for January of the new year as a transition convenience for the buyer. It lets me tack on my real favorite photo of the year, that I’d forgotten about when going to press. October 13: white on white, in the Camargue. Probably my favorite shot of the year. October 13: white on white, in the Camargue. I love it that he's chewing on a straw.

Gregory GarceauNot quite Lazurus, but it has been great to see you rise from near-blindness to something approaching normal within a few weeks. I'm very glad to see you're planning ahead, and those plans might include Minnesota.

Scott AndersonTo Tricia GrahamNot lose my glasses! Let’s not shoot too high and risk offending the gods. I’m fine with having my sight restored. If I lose my glasses I’ll buy another pair.

Scott AndersonTo Gregory GarceauWe won’t decide until mid-March some time, but I’m very optimistic tic about Pisa in April. I’ll be very surprised if we don’t get a second green light. If we do, we should make a date for the weekend of April 5th sometime.
