It was a rocky start. Packing, three board meetings the three evenings before departure,  picking up a rental car big enough to hold our two bikes, our biking gear, our bags, and back packs;  notes for house and dog sitters;  good byes to Ernie (our four year old big yellow lab who just doesn't fit on our bikes!). Then with the car all packed we head out only to discover that all the steering wheel options like cruise control and a screen with tire pressure were frozen. We tried everything and finally had to go back to the rental place for a complete change of cars. It all added about three hours to an already 19 hour drive!  The rest of the day was uneventful ending at 8:30 in a very nice Best Western in Batavia, NY! 

Ahhh - to get back on the bikes.   Can't wait!
