Another really nice ride

Comstock Park to Greenville

I do enjoy riding in the Midwest. More good county roads and miles on bike trails. Michigan seems to have paved many of them. E rode through forests, farmland, and some small towns.
The Fred Meier Heartland Trail along the Flat River into Greenville was especially nice. The Velcro strap that holds my water bottle cage sort of disintegrated (many miles of use) and the whole thing fell off my bike so when we got into Greenville we sought out a bike shop where Mike fixed meet up.
We stayed in The Winter  Hotel est. in 1905. Great lunch, nice bar for late afternoon beer, and very pleasant old style rooms.

Nancy took this sweet picture of John and me as we set out from Comstock Park. We rarely ride side by side - always on single file - so this was especially nice!

I found it hard to believe these were apple trees. It didn’t look like any apple orchard I ever saw. It went on and on!!!

Meet Mikey!! This young man started his own bike shop 5 years ago and does a great business fixing and selling bikes as an independent dealer. He appears to have one business partner. The Downtown Bike Shop on Lafayette St in Greenville MI is a great place for small repairs like mine or more major repairs or looking for a new bike!! Good luck Mikey!

It was a hot afternoon and John and I took the opportunity of a shorter ride to rest our weary bodies!
