Ione to Priest River

Our first none hilly day. And with a slight tail wind. And a nice river to travel by. And no rain. But a few not too bad dogs, all is good. Mellow until we got to our hotel. An expensive looking dump just outside of town in Newport. Lacking the appeal we were hoping for. Onto Priest River with another expensive motel that is nice and close to services. We have a couple of big days ahead of us. That should be interesting.

It was visible enough throughout the day to keep it interesting.

And an aside. We've been on a lot of chip and seal roads. We don't seem to have them much in VT. Mostly macadam. The latter seems to let you roll more effortlessly. Unfortunately, I think we're in for more of the same.

And another first...I rode without leggings today for the first time in this trip. The sun can be VERY warm. Using lots of sun block, especially on balding head. I'm actually getting a bit sun burned through the air vents in the helmet. Injury to insult.
