Liberation Day

Today is the anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam. On this day in 1975, the North Vietnamese Army made it's final push through the iron gates of the US Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City. Both the United States, and the illegitimate government it propped up for more that a decade fled the city in a final capitulation.
This is a happy day in Vietnam, but it comes from so much sadness. Myself, as a person who has spent considerable time in the United States, and has a great interest in current events in the United States, as they do directly effect my livelihood, I find the final tragedy of 'Vietnam', that after all the deaths that the war caused it's own citizens, and the 3.4 million dead Vietnamese, is that The United States learned nothing.
Today, I did not ride my bicycle.
