The Plan for Part Two - Grampies Grand Return to France: Summer 2024 - CycleBlaze

The Plan for Part Two

With the kids safely dispatched at Nantes, all that remains is for us to cycle a further 3500 km, on our own. We'll head back up the Loire before jumping on the cycle route The Francette, into Normandy. Then we'll continue just into Holland, as far as Dordrecht. This is indeed Holland, though technically South Holland. We will then cut through two other Netherlands provinces, before touching Germany for one day, and then shooting up the river Meuse, deep into France.

Have a look at those Netherlands provinces. Some, like "Holland" are more famous than others.

By "deep into France" we mean down to Burgundy, before hopping on the Rhone and following it to the Mediterranean, through our much loved Camargue. That's where we are looking forward to the white horses, black bulls, and pink flamingoes. Having hit the sea, we will follow it along until we hit the Pyrenees. We'll jump over those at the fairly easy pass we used last time (Col de Panissars), and roll on over to Girona. We plan to again use the train into Barcelona, and then to pedal on to Valencia to stash the bikes until Spring.  Like this:
