Days S1-5: Decompression and Fitness
Believe it or not, this domestic replacement trip almost ended up being kaiboshed also.
A covid flare-up happened earlier in the Pearl River Delta area and so the trip was put on hold again. Later on another epidemic would happen in Nanjing during the middle of this trip which would soon spread out to other provinces. I was able to have missed that.

The beginning of this trip was with my wife. I was able to cobble together some sort of a plan at the last minute for things to do in Shenzhen. That included in no particular order:
- Trying out the local dishes
- HIIT workouts
- Social events with Language Mix, Couchsurfing, and others
- Shopping
- Fixing up my bike
- Meeting up with some mutual friends for lunch
The wheelset of the bike was damaged on the plane. Not much of a surprise really, as it has happened before. That's why I try to take the Montague on planes as seldom as possible, and prefer (in pre-pandemic times) just to leave it in Bangkok. But now it's a different story. We discovered the problem while walking the bike to a shop to put air in the tires, and sure enough after riding the front wheel and frame was warped. There was a shop that could replace both wheelsets and that was the order of business.
