Today's ride was much more scenic than yesterdays. I was out in the country within a mile of leaving the motel.

A group of friendly horses. I was climbing a small hill and they walked along the fence, following me. Once I reached the top, I had to stop & pet them.

Corn and soybeans were the crops of the day.

I thought this was a bike shop, but it's actually a live music venue.

This fountain is also the site of Madison's Farmers Market on Saturdays.

After leaving Madison, I picked up the Ohio River Scenic Byway and followed it all the way to Vevay. It was a very pretty ride.

There were several campgrounds along the byway.

Vevay - 2023 Best Midwestern small town. BTW it's pronounced VeeVee.

We were really surprised when we entered the courthouse. There were no security guards or body scanners. We freely roamed the halls and went upstairs to the courtroom. Compared to our Citrus County Courthouse, with all of its security and restricted access, it was a surreal experience.

The courtroom was located on the 2nd floor.

Pete is Switzerland's County Manager. We had a nice chat about the courthouse and the community.

This old jail is at the rear of the courthouse and was built in 1854.

We're staying at a very nice motel in Vevay. It used to be a Best Western but is now owned by a nearby casino.

We saw 2 towboats going upriver this afternoon. This one was loaded with limestone.

My route takes me up 156 tomorrow to Rising Sun, which is just past the closed section. A local cyclist assured me that I could get through. I sure hope he's right!
