Day 24 - Jeffersonville to Scottsburg

I finally got on the road! We hung around the motel in Jeffersonville until shortly after 10 and then it was a short ride up US-31 to Scottsburg. The weather was nice, but the scenery was uninspiring.

Three modes of transportation in close proximity at the Clark County Regional Airport.

I can't pass up historical markers :-)

Full disclosure: I didn't notice the "(Continued on the other side)" when I took the previous photo. I captured this off the internet, because I didn't want to leave anyone hanging in suspense.

Native son William H. English. From Wikipedia: William Hayden English was an American politician. He served as a U.S. Representative from Indiana from 1853 to 1861 and was the Democratic Party's nominee for Vice President of the United States in 1880.

The square was full of good-looking women!

Of the 10 courthouses we have visited so far, this is the first one that was actually on a courthouse square. Unlike so many of the small towns we have visited, Scottsburg appears to have a vibrant downtown and all the buildings were occupied. Business was brisk in all the restaurants and bars.
