Day 15 - Napolean to Wauseon

Heart 0 Comment 0

Today we had a very short ride from Napolean to Wauseon.  There was a very gentle uphill grade most of the way, which should have been barely noticeable, but we noticed it!  We had a good, low traffic road through miles of farms. It was a quiet and peaceful ride.

In Wauseon, we added courthouse number 8, Fulton County.

After we walked around the courthouse and took pictures, we rode over to the Wauseon Depot.

It was all locked up, so we didn't see inside.

Kerry thought this was the only train he would see today.

But when we had ridden just a couple of blocks from the depot, Kerry heard a train whistle and did a quick U-turn. He got to watch a train go by after all.

Kelly IniguezHave you ever stay in a train car converted to a motel room? We stayed in a caboose in Canada on my birthday. It was in a hostel, $20. per bunk. I had to play the birthday card to get the guys to stay there. It was memorable for all of the wrong reasons. Whenever I want to stay someplace unique, they remind me of the caboose! There were a couple of train car opportunities for this summer's tour - we didn't take even one. Price was a consideration - forget the $20. a bunk, these were $3-400. a night!
