Day 078 - Roseau to Hallock

It was a very good ride today, and I'll let the pictures tell the story.

Right next to our motel in Roseau was this large Ag Equipment dealer - a sure sign we're in farming country.

Within 1/4 mile of our motel, I rode by a huge field of these tall plants. I didn't recognize what crop it was until I got off the bike and walked over to the field.

It was a field of sunflowers. Here is a closeup of the head which is just starting to emerge.

At the edge of the sunflower field were man-made sunflowers.

A couple of miles outside Roseau was the Roseau Pioneer Farm and Village.  Although it was not opened today, I walked around the gate to get a few photos.

Roseau County Road 4, between Greenbush and Lake Bronson, was a great ride.

These cattle emerged from the woods as I rode by. They were moving so fast I thought they were being driven, but I did not see anyone. I guess they were just in a hurry to get to the belly-high grass.

In Lake Bronson we visited the Kittson County Historical Museum...

The toy bandsaw had a small steel blade and looked like it actually worked.

Rose SamsonI think in 1970 the bell-bottom pants were popular and two-piece party dress was the fashion.

After visiting the museum, we stopped at the Bronson Market where Heather and Mindy gave Jeanna a free V-8.

While the 10-mile stretch of MN-175 between US-59 & US-75 is arrow-straight, Two Rivers, which parallels it, is not. I crossed the river 8 times in this stretch.

Two Rivers is not a big river. :-)
