Today's ride turned out to be all about a railroad. For a large portion or the ride, I was alongside the right-of-way of the old New York, Philadelphia and Norfolk Railroad.
As I had less than 50 miles to go today, we got up early for breakfast and then spent a leisurely morning reading the news on the internet. It was almost 11 before I got underway.
I learned later in the day that the rails had just been pulled up last year. I hope they turn the right-of-way into a paved Rail Trail as it would be a fantastic trail.
An unexpected find. This is Studebaker's Garage. They specialize in in old Gas, Oil and Soda advertising. Although it's not a museum, it could have been.
We had a very good lunch at the Off the Rails restaurant where Jenny was out waitress. The food was delicious, but I ate way to much and paid for it later in the ride. If you should ever ask John P., he'll tell you what I mean.
Tomorrow's (Tuesday) forecast is for a 60% chance of showers all day with temps in the upper 50's. The forecast for Wednesday is sunny and warm. We were planning to spend Tuesday and Wednesday in Lewes, DE. However, we just had a VERY SHORT discussion about the schedule and will be taking tomorrow off and riding to Lewes on Wednesday instead.
Today's ride: 50 miles (80 km) Total: 1,192 miles (1,918 km)
