Day 86 - Medora to Dickinson

No headwinds! Heat and hills we had, but a benign to quartering light tailwind made a huge difference in our riding day. We arrived hot and tired, but not exhausted.
A few miles from Medora, we stopped at the Painted Canyon Visitors Center and overlook. The view was awesome. It is part of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
Entering the overlook, we saw another touring tandem couple headed out. We all stopped to talk, of course. They are John and Margaret from Glens Falls, NY doing the Northern Tier from east to west. They've been on the road for 40 some days.
We are seeing a change from mostly cattle to mostly crops now.
There were many large canola fields today. The bright yellow is so pretty.

We weren't really bothered much by the heat riding today, but it go up to 101 this afternoon. It was pretty brutal just walking a few blocks to lunch. Our next route is over 50 miles. It would be hard for us to get that many miles in before noon. We decided to take a day off tomorrow in anticipation of cooler days to come.
Today's ride: 38 miles (61 km)
Total: 3,284 miles (5,285 km)
