It was all farms all day on today's route. We saw ethanol, whisky, animal feed and Frito's in their raw state for mile after mile. There were a few fields of soy beans and some dairy farms as well.

Some farm photos
It's too bad that it isn't possible to add aromas to the images captured.

We took a "foot break" a few miles from Rock Falls. (Recumbent cyclists don't need butt breaks, but we both sometimes get hot foot.) We thought it was a church, but the little sign in front said "Stone School". I haven't found anything about it online.
Kerry here... While the scenery was pretty, the roads today took on a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Some stretches had a smooth road with wide shoulders while other stretches had a rough road with absolutely no shoulder. It would jump from one to the other every few miles for no apparent reason. (Usually when we notice a change in the road conditions, it's because we crossed a county line.) IL26 was particularly unpleasant as most of it had no shoulder and there were lots of semis. Jeanna was very busy calling out traffic as I dodged potholes while trying to stay on the white line. Obviously we made it OK, but it sure was not a relaxing ride for a good part of the day.
Today's ride: 47 miles (76 km)
Total: 2,353 miles (3,787 km)
