Day 64 Midland, MI

We had a wonderful ride today on the Pere Marquette Trail all the way from Evart to Midland.  The trail is very well maintained and the surface was in excellent condition most of the way.

There was a good mix of heavily wooded areas, open land, farms and some sections right along the roadway.

We stopped to check out this large structure.  It's a coal tipple for loading coal into steam trains.

We went across this bridge over this river - and for my friends at home in Citrus County - this was the name of the river we found on the far side.

We see a number of plants we can't identify.  These flowering plants were along the trail today.  We know our "plant guy" will name them for us!

Jeanna & Kerry SmithTo Bill ShaneyfeltThanks, Bill for the ID. When we are out riding now, we talk about which plants we're going to post pictures of for you to identify. You've become part of our daily routine!

Near the end of today's route, we stopped one last time and came across this guy.

Jeanna & Kerry SmithActually, we didn't. They wanted more for 1 scoop than we pay for a full half-gallon of Publix premium and I just couldn't bring myself to buy it.
