It was another hilly ride today - 1949 feet of elevation gain over 54 miles. It was warmer than yesterday, but not too hot. We rode through rural areas on good roads with very little traffic after we left US 65 at Chillicothe. US 65 had rumble strips, but the good kind that were narrow and left a rideable shoulder.
We've had some change in scenery from corn and soybeans. There are still farms, but we are also seeing a number of cattle ranches now.

We were in such a rural area that convenience stores were very infrequent. Kerry found a shady spot to take a break and rest the bike about 10 miles from our destination.

We're staying in the town of Jamesport, MO tonight. The population is about 75% Amish. This plaque is on the wall at the motel. The Amish couple who gave us shelter from the rain a couple of days ago commented on our Bontrager shoes and helmets and said that Bontrager was a very common Amish name. I wonder if Keith has an Amish background?
Today's ride: 54 miles (87 km)
Total: 921 miles (1,482 km)
