Day 10 Litchfield, IL

Today's ride was a little shorter and a little cooler than yesterday's. After a 66 mile day, 56 miles didn't seem too bad. Our hotel didn't serve breakfast, so we got an early start and were on the road just after 7:30 AM. The forecast high was 90F, but by the time we arrived in Litchfield, the highest temperature I recorded was 86.
We made frequent stops for water, snacks and AC today. At our second stop in Pana, IL, a group of cyclists rode into McDonald's just behind us. They were some guys from the 63 Monkeys - a local group of friends who ride together frequently. There are not 63 members in the group, but we were unable to ascertain whether they were all monkeys!
We continued through several tiny to small towns today and more miles and miles of farms. Since I am tired of posting pictures of cornfields, here a couple of other things we saw along the road. I'm sure there must be a story, but we saw no explanation for this.
We also saw this vehicle in someone's yard today.
One of the tiniest towns we passed through was Irving, IL. There we found a small market owned by Mr. Bennington for over 50 years.
Today's ride: 56 miles (90 km)
Total: 482 miles (776 km)
