Day 79 Collinwood to Tishomingo, MS
Today was our first – and only – three state day. We left Collinwood, TN and the lovely Miss Monetta’s Cottage and rode about 32 miles to Alabama. We were giving Kerry a hard time about his reluctance to join in the ceremonial picture taking when we cross state lines, so he insisted that I take his picture in front of the Tennessee line to help his pictorial record.

There weren’t many historic sites along the Trace today. We stopped at a couple of places where the old Trace is visible and at Cave Springs, where we found a small sign telling us what a sinkhole is – not new information for a group of Floridians – though our sinkholes are often not gradual!
After 23 miles in Alabama, we entered Mississippi. If I am counting correctly, this is state numbers 13 and 14 for this trip for Team S and numbers 14 and 15 for Team A after their brief foray into Illinois last week.
We arrived at our AirBNB accommodation in the early afternoon. We were surprised to find that in sleeps four – in one room! I must have not paid enough attention to the description when I made the reservation. We decided that it was fine, though. We biked into town for dinner and breakfast provisions. After a good meal, we’re ready for a cozy evening.
Today's ride: 62 miles (100 km)
Total: 3,700 miles (5,955 km)
