We rode through more Kentucky, but fewer hills today.

Yesterday, at the Lenoxburg store, we had seen a local soft drink called Ale 81. We didn't try it then, but Kerry saw it this morning at a little store in Sanders, KY and decided to try it. The pictures show the outcome of that deviation from Diet Coke.

We met our first unfriendly, unrestrained Kentucky dogs today. We were chased by several who didn't go far from their property, but Team A encountered one who was more aggressive and determined to give chase. After that, Viktoriya decided that the whistle was not going to be effective enough and it was time to keep the pepper spray at hand. I'm afraid this is going to be a continuing problem as we make our way through the rural south.
After lunch in Carrollton, KY, we followed the Ohio River for about 12 miles and crossed the bridge into Madison, IN. It's our twelfth state on this trip. (If anyone is really fact checking me, my state count when we entered Kentucky was wrong. I forgot about our eight mile jaunt into Michigan as we took the ferries across the St. Clair River.)
We're in a little house right on the Ohio River tonight and tomorrow night. It is a nice place, with great views of the river. I'll add some pictures tomorrow.
Today's ride: 54 miles (87 km)
Total: 3,065 miles (4,933 km)
