Appropriate dressing for a bike tour
Here is a tip for appropriate dressing for a bike tour. Don't use a creamy dressing, use some kind of oil and vinegar dressing. We discovered that the Jamestown condo we were staying in did not have any coking oil. We simply let the oil and vinegar in our balsamic vinaigrette separate, skim off some oil, and we were able to use the salad dressing oil to cook up our eggs.
In our case we still had an ample supply of chain lube, but we see no reason that a touring cyclist could not also obtain a smooth riding, sweet smelling ride using the same approach.
Our supply of sportslick is also still adequate so we are not yet in a position to comment on the efficacy of salad dressing oil in preventing saddle sores.
