Day 72: New Glasgow, NS
We woke up to rain, as expected, so spent a lazy morning in our room. The rain had let up by 11:00, so we rode down the Nova Scotia Museum of Industry.
It was pretty interesting. It traced the industrial history of this part of Nova Scotia, with an emphasis on coal mining. Coal mining first started in this area in the 1790's. The museum had the first steam locomotive in Nova Scotia, which was used to haul coal to ships for transport. It was built around 1850 and named "Samson".

Michelin has three tire plants in Nova Scotia and an exhibit at the museum. We learned something there I never knew - the Michelin Man has a name. It's Bibendum, or "Bib" to his friends.
When came out of the museum, it was sprinkling rain. We stopped at Subway for sandwiches and brought them back to our room. Sunshine is in the forecast for tomorrow. We're taking the ferry to Prince Edward Island. We hope to have much better views than we did on our fogged in trip to Nova Scotia.
Today's ride: 5 miles (8 km)
Total: 2,907 miles (4,678 km)
