Day 18: Warrenton, NC
We had a relaxing day in Warrenton. After a delicious three course breakfast, I did laundry and Kerry cleaned and made some adjustments on the bike. I could learn to like breakfast if I could have it served to me every day at 9AM and didn't have to do any of the cooking or cleaning up. I am definitely NOT one of those people who say they miss their own kitchen when they travel.
In the afternoon, we took a walk around town. Warrenton has a downtown area with some stores and a few restaurants. Many of the businesses were closed on Monday.

There are a number of big, beautiful homes from the mid 1800's which have been restored and then some which look like they will have to be demolished.

Our B&B is a nice home which the owner said is 112 years old.
We had a late lunch at Milano's, which was very good. Thanks to our chef and server.
There are quite a few historical markers in town. These two had names we recognized.
And then there was this sign at the entrance to the local community college. No bicycles on a college campus???

Tomorrow’s destination is Burkeville, VA. Our planned route is both more rural and hilly than previous days – in 65 miles we will pass through only one small town and we will have about 2,500 feet of climbing. Jeanna is SO looking forward to the climbs 😊
