We're back home now after our 14 day adventure. We had a great time. Today's route was nearly all bike trail, which made for a very relaxing last ride.

The weather was just about perfect. We were joined by two other tandem couples for part of the ride, so it was almost like a mini tandem rally.
The first part of the route was on the Withlacoochee State Trail. It is a flat, smooth rail trail which runs through woods, cypress swamps and several small towns.
We stopped for a snack at Ferris Groves in Floral City. We enjoyed strawberry milkshakes made from their own locally grown berries and some orange slices and orange juice. We had all four tandem couples there.

Ken and Francie couldn't resist capturing a picture of the Sand Hill Cranes (which are rarely seen in WA)

After having lunch in Inverness, we rode over to the trailhead which has a beautiful new mural done by local artists, who are also trail volunteers.
Ken, Francie, Kerry and I arrived at our house tired and happy a little before 3PM. We couldn't have had better traveling companions and hope we four will be bike touring again soon! JS
It was a fantastic trip, arranged by Jeana and Kerry. We have a new appreciation for the wildness and diversity of Florida. We're tired, but sorry for the adventure to end. FG
Today's ride: 43 miles (69 km)
Total: 43 miles (69 km)
