Out and back to Chiracahua National Monument

Getting ready to ride up to the Chiricahua Monument this morning. It was 36 degrees this morning but the sun is warming things up!

In the first mile we had two "puddles" to ride through.

Clothing change! It's warming up more!

We rode through four washes on the way to the monument!

It's turning into a very nice day

The water is still running very fast in the creeks

Cars still can't get through the big wash just beyond our B&B so we have the road all to ourselves this morning

We rode into the park and at first the gate was closed due to all the rain yesterday as it washed rock onto the road. By the time we stopped for the bathroom, the gate was opened so up we rode. It's five miles to the top.

Mushroom!

Waterfall! Unusual for these parts.

Our trusty motors purred all the way up.

I met Nard and Sheary Claar up at the top! They are trying out their new RAM camper and showed me how it works. Had a fun visit.

Everyone is up at the top now and we have a picnic table and a sunny day to have lunch

We all took a hike after lunch.

We are looking for HooDoos

There she is

Stephen is tiny next to these giants stones

Amazing what the wind and water can do

We spent an hour or so up at the top

We made our way out to a viewing structure

We climbed up and looked around

After we had our fill, we headed back down the hill.

We came back through all four of the washes without mishap!

Back to our B&B - The Dream-Catcher
