First Trip, Day 2 - Preston to Houston (Minnesota)

If you recall the first post of this journal series (the Third Trip), I mentioned how I didn't even consider writing a journal about traveling with Carl. You might also recall that as a result of that, the earlier journals might be a bit... dry. Straight lemon juice with nothing added. Death Valley in the summer. My humor on occasion.

This is that journal. Five pictures: three of a church, because it's tiny and cute, and two of Carl's backside, which is neither tiny nor cute. I don't even remember much from the day, so, here you go....

As it turns out, this church isn't even on the trail. In fact, it's not even in Minnesota. Our visit is a result of one of Carl's atlas detours we took on the way back. It's the St. Anthony of Padua Church in Winneshiek County, Iowa. I only found out as I was writing this because I wanted to know exactly where on the Root River it was.

Still, being so small, it's kind of cool.
