Day 9 Kettle Falls to Ione WA
We were on the road by 6:30 this morning as we knew we had a long ride with 5 climbs and 3 of them being 3 miles each at a max of 7% grade. The first 10 miles were nice with a few rolly hills into Colville where we stopped to get breakfast. It was 46° when we got up but it felt good biking. After breakfast the climbs started coming. We have to admit that we actually did more pedaling than pushing today. Yay! The only real negative was that there was a constant rumble of these double up paving trucks going back and forth. They followed us all the way to Ione and continued on. I have to give them a shout out as they were considerate of us biking. We found out later when we got to our room that they are doing a lot of paving at the Canadian border which is 26 miles from here. For some reason we were able to get to our room, go get something to eat and stop for some supplies, take our showers and start relaxing early. Tomorrow we head to Priest River Idaho. That will mean 1 state down as we will be doing over 50 miles tomorrow 🚴♀️🚴
