Day 52 Manistique MI to Naubinway MI
When we got up it was 54°. The sun was not up when we left at 6:30 and again we bundled up. It is nice leaving at that time as there isn’t much traffic. We stayed on bike route 10 on route 2 East. The best thing about this route is the shoulder. Nice and wide even with the rumble strip in it. It is not the most scenic route and is mostly flat but it gets the miles in quicker than the off route. It would have added another 10+ miles and who knows how many hills there would be. The traffic was not as bad as yesterday but it did pick up as the day went on. Haven’t seen my girls in quite a few days but did come upon this one with the farmer. Pretty clever if I say so myself. Got another picture of the free range chickens. I really liked this carving of the ax man but I couldn’t get the picture without the fence. 😟. As we were riding we saw these other birds and I have no idea what they are. I couldn’t get my phone out quick enough to take the picture before they walked into the woods. Vacancy, no vacancy at the Bates Motel. Glad Hubs didn’t book us there as I would not have been able to take a shower. We came upon this sign and every road should have one. Thank you to whoever posted it. A bit earlier we almost got hit by a truck pulling a trailer. Hopefully they saw this sign and will start paying more attention. After we checked into our hotel, we took a bike ride to the northern most point of the Upper Peninsula. We probably would never have known this if we were in a car. Then again if we were in a car we would be on a different route. 🙂 We walked to the only restaurant that was

open in town and got our just rewards. Tomorrow we head to St Ignace MI.
