This train was about 10 miles long. I guess this is considered a storage area

Today our journey took us 250 miles in a U-haul truck. We knew the ride was going to be long without any services. We were so glad that we decided to get the truck not only for the barren ride but also becuz of the smoke from the Alberta fires. It actually got worse the further we drove. At some points we could actually smell it in the truck. The terrain did change as we drove but it was still barren. I couldn’t imagine doing this on the bike for days. There wasn’t any shoulder but luckily there wasn’t much traffic. We did come to where the road was torn up for 10 miles that was all gravelly. That would have taken forever to ride through and with all my whining and Hub’s bitching it really wouldn’t have been fun. I happen to be in the blog and noticed other people were biking from Seattle to Maine so I decide to read bit which was a post that she made today. They were in Dickinson MT and she was talking about how bad the smoke is. We will be going through there also. She mentioned that they could not find anything to rent so they were going to have to bike in it. I mentioned to Hub’s that I wonder if we could extend our truck rental past dropping it off in Glendive. So we called U-haul and yes we could extend it to Bismarck ND. Hallelujah.

When we arrived at our motel and came in to register we noticed they had a pool and hot tub. NICE. It felt so good to relax in the hot tub.

We then relaxed in the room for an hour or so then headed out to a brewery. It is a very small but cozy one. When we went in there was 1 customer and the woman who owned the place. No wine for me but she did make me a lemon seltzer. We were all chatting when another couple came in. The first guy(Clinton)  left so we started talking to the other couple. They are Steve and Donna. We were there about 2 hours having a good time. They did invite us to dinner at their house but we kindly declined. Maybe if it was earlier we might of said yes. I know we don’t have to get up early tomorrow but we wanted to have dinner and get back to relax. Plus I had to do the blog and Hubs has to figure out our route. So tomorrow we will be heading to Bismarck which is about 190 miles away.Let’s hope this smoke dissipates soon.
