In this section we jump onto one of our original and most favoured routes, La Loire a Velo, but just for a small fraction of its total length. This is not the bit that really has all the wonderful chateaux that you can visit, though Angers is at the western end of the world heritage designation. But you still have the picturesque river and the small towns along it, together with the high quality and well marked cycle route.

It was along this stretch in June 2012 that we first met Michel Fleurance, riding his trike. Michel lives in Ste Luce, near Nantes, and has become a very dear friend. We hope to stay with him in Ste Luce and perhaps have him escort us a short way up the Erdre river from Nantes, on the next leg of our journey.
