Trat: Work day with a Wat thrown in for good measure
We started work at about five thirty this morning, taking a break between nine and twelve to visit Wat Buppharam and pick up some food. Wat Bupparam was interesting in an understated way. The first thing we saw was a little garden of statues illustrating the dangers of alcohol with the message apparently being that it turns men into dogs. The wooden vihan, the oldest of its type in Thailand, was very plain but had a magnificent aura and some interesting statues of the Buddha. We were also allowed into the old vihan and the museum by TAT volunteers. While this was happening, our tour was interrupted by an American English teacher who was looking for one of his elderly Thai pupils. He took the opportunity to vent his (very negative) views on the current political situation in the USA on us.

Then it was back to the grindstone for the rest of the day.
