Otres to Shanoukville and back: Visa applications
We cycled into Sihanoukville to apply for our Vietnamese visas. The ride in took about twice as long as we thought it would because we spent a lot of time sheltering from the rain. Even so, we were soaking wet by the time we arrive at the Vietnamese consulate. The consular staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the application process was simple and trouble free. A single one page form to complete, the provision of a single passport size photo and $40. We were told we could collect our passports after four o'clock this afternoon but said we would leave it until tomorrow. This was probably just as well because, although the rain stopped when we got to the consulate and stayed away for the most of the day, it has started chucking down again this afternoon. We are booked into the Sok Sabay until Wednesday morning so there is no rush to collect the visas. Only one of us needs to collect them so I can cycle in tomorrow while Leigh can stay behind and get some work done.
Today's ride: 24 km (15 miles)
Total: 6,312 km (3,920 miles)
