Wakkanai
We've had a good day's work as well as managing to rest and dry out after yesterday's efforts. The weather forecast for tomorrow looks good so we will head up to Cape Soya and then carry on down the north-east side of Hokkaido for a day or so before heading southwards again.
Last night it was too cold and wet to go out so we ate supper at the hotel, just a simple fired chicken on rice bowl. Lunch and supper today have been at a nearby Sukiya, part of a chain of gyudon restaurants. We managed to get a variety of food - salmon, eel, tuna, beef all on rice bowls as well as some ramen noodles, salad and pickled vegetables. None of it is great but it is much better than konbini food at a similar price.
We didn't get on the bicycles at all today - everything we needed was within walking distance of the hotel.
