Day 11 - Into Vientiane
The cycling today was awesome, as it normally is with short distances to the approach of large cities. You know that things will get more and more built up and the stops will be more frequent with loads of interesting diversions. What basically happens is the last 10-20 km are super grimy and rundown, but that's where you'll find the most shops worth stopping off for. A surprise hair salon was the first of many stops where they did a cut, beard shave, and threw in a massage all for $2. Next was multiple drink and smoothie stops, then before I knew it the road entered the city proper.

At this point things got super smooth. Route 13 is in very bad shape and it is full of bumps, so I was quite grateful to change to smoother city roads. Since this would be my last day in Laos I splurged out for a nice place in the city center. From this point on I'll be crossing the Friendship Bridge into the Isaan region of Thailand and belting out distances south.
Today's ride: 65 km (40 miles)
Total: 758 km (471 miles)
