The Fort Langley ramble

We have Jacquie and Al, local domain experts, to thank for today’s outing: a delightfully leisurely ride up and down the Fraser River beginning and ending in Fort Langley.   they picked the route, and they picked the outstanding bakery where we stopped for snacks afterwards.  All agreed that the biking was considerably more relaxing than our last cycling experience together, earlier this spring in chaotic Palermo.

Thanks for arranging the day and joining us, Al and Jacquie!

I could caption the photos but I think you know who these characters are. In case you’re uncertain though, Al’s the one with the hot, racy Sicilian jersey.  Looks sort of pornographic, don’t you think?

Our meetup point, the Fort Langley Public Library. We’re on time, for a nice change.

Al wonders how Rocky manages to keep up on those tiny wheels.

We’ll have to check in on this place on 84th Avenue in a few years to see if it’s still standing.

My theory is that’s a playhouse perched up there atop the silos. Al thinks it’s probably got some sort of equipment in there related to silo management.

Don’t tell Rachael who would definitely disapprove, but I took this shot while biking.

Jacquie GaudetIt was a fun day! The challenge was finding a flattish ride but we managed! Fort Langley was definitely a good choice as we were travelling against traffic both ways, meaning you’d have been stuck in it had you come to North Van, which is decidedly not flat. Next time!
