Scott’s Indoor Script
Narrative to be developed later
Scott’S indoor checklist:
- Always take essential items with you in an outdoor container (pannier, rucksack, handlebar bag, etc) designed for use outdoors such that it never touches the ground where it might be ridden or walked away from and left behind. left behind. Although the actual current list is shareable so it can be externalized and shared, a copy is also being embedded here as a reading convenience. It is important to keep this list up to date when the actual list is altered, so that they are kept in synch and future mistakes and bad story days can be avoided. Essential items currently include: wallet, first aid equipment, sun screen, paper and pen, multitool, clickstand, spare tube, patch kit, lock, flashlight, Ray-Bans, prescription glasses, emergency food, ibuprofen, electrolytes, and exactly one glasses case.
- Put the Garmin, gloves, helmet, liner and Ray-Bans (unencased) on the bike.
- Make sure all planned destinations (including home) are locstsble on the phone.
- Keys go in the bike jersey. If wearing the outer layer, keep the keys on the inside layer. Don’t put them in the outer layer, where they might fall out on the road and get left behind.
- Step out the door with your bike and everything else at the same time.
- Double check that you have all items with you, all electronics are charged, the cameras have sufficient memory, and your route matches Rachael’s if she’s riding too.
- Lock the door behind you.
- Take a photo of the scene; partly for documentation, but mainly as a test that you’ve not walked out without the camera again.
