Day 1 on GAP

Pittsburgh to West Newton

After almost a week in Pittsburgh seeing the sights we loaded our panniers onto our bikes and headed out bright and early. Today’s ride covered from Pittsburgh to West Newton.

Point State Park, convergence of three rivers and former site of a French fort. The three rivers are the Allegheny, Ohio and Monogahila (sp?).

First rest stop in McKeesport. Small park had a life sized sculpture of JFK.

The Outpost - burgers for lunch in West Newton. The container and patio restaurant was located on the street behind the West Newton train depot.
