Lots of walking - 18,726 steps
Today we played tourist in Salzburg. We visited the Hohensalzburg Fortress, rode up on the Festung Bahn, it’s a long way up. It is the largest castle complex in Europe and was begun around 900. Visited the museums in the castle and explored the castle yard. Next we crossed the river and walked down to the Mirabelle gardens saw some of the Sound of Music locations, and had great fun in the gnome garden. Inside there were a lot of marble cherubs and soldiers in the alcoves going up a grand stairwell. In the gardens the scent was very aromatic and the designs were elaborate.

Finally, we went to the house where Mozart lived. Most of the info was about Leopold Mozart, Amadeus’ Father and his accomplishments as well as what he did to help his son’s career.
And........ finally, guess who we saw today?
Mary Poppins, and contrary to the movie she does age....
