Navigating the Narrows
Balancing from rock to rock, wading through cold rushing water, hiking up the narrows below towering rock walls. We hiked a little over 2 miles up stream and down stream plus the 2 miles on the path to get to the stream.

We prepped lunch for a van picnic and then shuttled to the visitors center where we were outfitted with neoprene boots and socks especially designed for walking through the water on rocks. We also got walking sticks which we learned were very much needed.
The rented boots did a great job of helping us stick to the rocks and not slip and slide.
The walk up the narrows was magnificent with the rushing water, shear cliffs, and sunlight filtering down.
The shuttle ride to and from the path to the narrows revealed many hiking paths that branch off from the main road among the towering rock walls. The walk along the path to get to the narrows was over shadowed by tall jagged cliffs.
After our slosh down the narrows it was back to the van and a shuttle ride back to St George where this adventure ended. It has been a fabulous 6 days full of new discoveries, first experiences, many challenges, and lots of fun!
