Day 2 - Medina to Fairport
It’s day 2 and we are off for 62 miles along the Erie Canal. More sights to see, welcomed by each town’s welcoming committee along the way.

Riding out of Medina we walked our bikes over the Medina Aqueduct which holds the water in the canal. The surface is very bumpy, kind of like corduroy made out of concrete… Beside the aqueduct there are falls along the way.
The Medina Aqueduct is the only aqueduct still currently in use along the canal.
Just a little further along, Medina culvert is the only place where a road goes under the canal.

Albion is a great little town they were out along the canal welcoming us and directing us to local businesses that were opening their restrooms to the 650 cyclists going through. We found a great little bakery with the best cinnamon coffee cake muffin I have ever had! They also had several cool murals along the canal.
A great rest stop in Holly along the canal.
On this part of the canal we have seen more boat traffic.
Our home for the night is in Fairport.
