Blue skies, hot days

Reboot of the Rhein

Flat tire, canyon cycles, fahrad franz xxl, back along the Rhein, lunch in spay and back to Koblenz. 81 degrees, hot! we will be in real trouble when we get home....

Walked from the hotel to the nearest bike shop to get a flat repaired on one of our very used bikes. Canyon bicycles turned out to be a very cool shop and show room for canyon bicycles. But they did not have the tubes needed for our very used touring bikes. They had a lot of high end really nice bikes.

Since Canyon didn’t have the right tube to fix the tire they suggested we go to Fahrad Franz XXL. About a mile and a half away.

Then it was back to the hotel to collect our bikes for the day’s ride. Back along the castle studded Rhine to explore a little town and have lunch.

Lunch along the Rhein under a grape arbor.

Then it was back to Koblenz a very busy town with lots of ship and people traffic. It seemed everyone was out on this beautiful day. Along the cycle path we did a lot of people dodging.

The Deuches Eck or “German corner” where the Mosel runs into the Rhein.

The castle overlooking Koblenz and the cable car that will take you up there.

Next back to our hotel along the Mosel to relax in the Biergarten with a cold drink. We were really hot. 81 degrees and sunny feels very hot when we have generally had temperatures in the 60s....

Our very funky eclectic hotel.

Meg BatesLooks great. I recall the castles along the Rhine are stunning. So glad the weather is cooperating with no rain and blue skies. You are right about having to adjust to the warm weather. Going to be 93 today here! I know you’re on your last couple days of riding and then will be heading home. Enjoy. Really looking forward to hearing about your last week in more detail. Pedal on!! πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™€οΈ
