In Kirkby Stephen: two castle walk

This was a very interesting and beautiful hike with some obstacles thrown in to keep me on my toes.

Walking south along the Eden River.

Here’s the obstacle but I made it through the narrow gap by holding my breath and being very careful!

The next several photos are of Pendragon Castle, the better known of the two castles.  This one actually had someone other people around.  I loved seeing the sheep grazing.

After exploring the castle, I decided to go off route and explore more of the countryside.

It pays to take the road less traveled! I was tempted to stop and join them for a picnic. Scott saw this photo and commented ‘chicken for lunch’. No way!
