Strolling around....

In the late afternoon, Sue and I headed out for dinner and an evening walk. Trieste is a very attractive and stately city with beautiful architecture, large piazzas, and long pedestrianized zones that are lined with bars, restaurants and cafes. We joined the people of Trieste in the Passeggiata; a time of the day when Italians come out in the early evening and walk, meet friends, have dinner or maybe indulge in a gelati. This usually happens when the heat of the day eases. It's an amazing social phenomenon, and all generations take part in this festive evening event.

Roman Amphitheatre. It still hosts shows and concerts. It's over 1100 years old!
