I arrived home from a trip to Central America in November. There was a catalog of bicycle trips from Adventure Cycling in the pile of mail awaiting me. I saw a cross country cycle trip listed and went to find out more on the website. Sadly, it was already full and, later, I learned the waiting list was long. 

   I searched for some other xc tours as I was now interested in going. Eventually, I got to Trek Travel and their trip in fall 2025 was also full. They sent an email informing me that the waiting list for their trip was long also. They suggested I make a deposit for their fall 2026 trip, which I did.

  I tried another company but got little response and dropped that idea.

  Then in mid-December, Adventure Cycling sent me an email about this trip in Med-February, just two months away.  They wanted the full amount paid immediately, as it was so close. I had to get my credit limit raised, and eventually made the payment. This trip is from ST Augustine, FL to San Diego, CA via the southern tier (as they call it). I cycled much of this route in 2015 from west to east.  Obviously, it has been winter here and I have not been able to cycle much outdoors.   We are scheduled to take two months for the trip, and much of it will be tent camping.
